Job Description Full‑time Teaching Associate/Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA‑C) in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Washington Medical Center, Montlake. This academic appointment is a 12‑month full‑time position (July 1 – June 30, 2026) with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. Position Responsibilities Provide evaluation and medical management to Gynecologic Oncology patients, including chemotherapy, radiation, postoperative care, and long‑term surveillance. Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary treatment team to coordinate patient care. Perform complex and problem‑focused history and physical examinations within scope of practice. Educate patients and families about disease, treatment options, and management of toxicities. Document patient care data in Epic, following University of Washington policies. Participate in clinical research, patient rounds, conferences, and committees. Develop and maintain patient management algorithms and standing orders. Mentor new ARNP or PA‑C staff and PA/NP students. Distinguishing Characteristics Effective collaboration with other disciplines to deliver state‑of‑the‑art, patient‑centered care. Evidence‑based diagnosis and management of acute, symptomatic, and palliative needs of cancer patients. Clear communication about disease processes, treatment, and toxicity management to patients and families. Scope of Work Perform complex, problem‑focused H & P’s independently. Understand biology and natural history of common cancers and provide patient education. Manage patients on cancer treatment and treatment‑related side effects. Offer long‑term surveillance and survivorship care. Perform procedures per licensure, credentialing, and scope of practice. Collaborate and consult with multidisciplinary teams for safe, effective care. Participate in cancer clinical research. Communicate changes in patient health status to the primary oncologist. Participate in patient rounds, conferences, and committees. Contribute to development and maintenance of patient management algorithms and standing orders. Document patient care in Epic per UWP policies. Provide support, teaching, counseling, and refer to community agencies for optimal patient adjustment. Teach and mentor new ARNP or PA‑C staff, PA, and/or NP students. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Current and valid state Registered Nurse Licensure for ARNP or Physician Assistant Licensure. Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or accredited PA program and licensure as an ARNP or PA‑C. Nationally certified ARNP/PA‑C with DEA. Experience working with medically complex patients and clinical teaching. Proven excellence in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment. Effective interpersonal, leadership, and clinical expertise in patient care. Minimum 1–2 years of prior APP experience. Prior experience in Women’s Health and/or Oncology highly desired. Eligibility All candidates must be eligible for and able to maintain a Washington State medical license. Faculty are expected to provide medical services at University of Washington affiliated hospitals, train residents and medical students, and make academic contributions to the field. Compensation Monthly base salary range: $10,417 – $13,750 ($125,004 – $165,000 annually). Compensation is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and prevailing wage determinations.
