Litigation Associate
A nationally respected law firm is seeking a litigation associate with up to 10 years of experience to join its growing insurance coverage and commercial litigation team in Seattle. This role focuses on representing insurers in coverage and bad faith matters while also defending corporate clients in complex commercial disputes, catastrophic loss, and wrongful death claims.
The team is open to attorneys who do not have direct insurance coverage experience but demonstrate strong litigation skills and a genuine interest in developing expertise in this area.
Associate Responsibilities:
- Analyze insurance policies and evaluate rights and obligations under coverage provisions.
- Draft detailed coverage opinions and provide strategic advice to insurer clients.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and prepare memoranda and case analyses.
- Draft and respond to pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, and legal correspondence.
- Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings.
- Proactively manage caseloads, deadlines, and client communications.
Associate Requirements:
- Admission to the Washington State Bar in good standing.
- Up to 10 years of litigation experience (insurance coverage experience a plus, but not required).
- Strong academic credentials.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple active matters with strong organizational discipline.
- Demonstrated interest in insurance coverage and related litigation.
Associate Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range: $125,000 – $200,000 (DOE).
