About the Position

Job Title: PACU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years, required License: Active nursing license in the state of practice Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - Level 1 trauma experience - Telemetry experience Description: No RQI certifications required. No locals within a 100-mile radius. Pre/Post Cath lab procedures experience required. Pre/Post Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures experience required. COVID vaccine is optional, and reporting of COVID vaccine numbers is required. Position involves working in a Level I trauma center. Ratios for PACU are 1:2. First-time travelers may be accepted upon screening. One weekend shift per month is required. Call shifts may be required, 1-2 overnight calls monthly. PACU nurses will float to the holding area in the PACU department, with increased patient ratios of 1:3-5. Experience with phase II recovery is highly recommended. Candidates must be willing to perform pre-operative responsibilities. Patients include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census exceeds 35 cases. Unit supports various specialties including general surgery, orthopedic, and anesthesia recovery. Candidates should be prepared for an interdisciplinary approach to patient care. Limited pediatric experience may be considered. Preferred RTO restrictions greater than 7 days need approval. Compliance documents are required 10 days prior to start.
