Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Receivable Clerk to support daily accounts receivable and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, familiarity with accounts receivable processes, and strong organizational and analytical skills.

This opportunity is well-suited for candidates with previous accounts receivable experience, general accounting knowledge, or recent graduates with an educational background in accounting or finance.

The successful candidate will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing customer payments, monitoring outstanding balances, and supporting the overall efficiency of the accounts receivable function.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable & Billing

• Prepare, review, and process customer invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Record and apply incoming customer payments, including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card transactions.
• Maintain accurate customer account records and payment histories.
• Assist with monitoring accounts receivable aging reports and identifying outstanding balances.
• Follow up on past-due invoices through professional email and telephone communication.
• Research and assist with resolving billing discrepancies, short payments, and customer account inquiries.
• Generate customer statements and provide invoice documentation as requested.

Accounting & Reconciliation

• Assist with reconciling customer accounts and identifying payment discrepancies.
• Support the review and reconciliation of accounts receivable transactions.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
• Support general accounting functions and special projects as assigned.

Administrative & Reporting

• Enter and maintain accurate financial information within accounting software and internal systems.
• Prepare basic accounts receivable reports and spreadsheets.
• Organize and maintain customer invoices, payment records, and supporting documentation.
• Communicate with internal departments to resolve invoice and payment-related issues.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned accounting tasks.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Recent accounting graduates with a solid understanding of accounting principles are encouraged to apply.
• Previous experience in accounts receivable, billing, bookkeeping, or general accounting preferred.
• Approximately 0–3 years of relevant experience preferred; equivalent education and practical experience will be considered.
• Basic understanding of accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, payment applications, and account reconciliations.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, sorting, filtering, and data entry.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems preferred.
• Basic understanding of accounting terminology and financial transactions.
• Ability to review numerical information and identify discrepancies.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new accounting systems.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We welcome candidates with a combination of accounting education and practical experience, including:

• Accounts Receivable Clerks: Individuals with 1–3 years of hands-on experience processing invoices, applying payments, maintaining customer accounts, or assisting with collections.
• Accounting Clerks or Assistants: Candidates with general accounting experience who have supported accounts receivable functions and are interested in specializing in AR.
• Recent Accounting Graduates: Individuals with an accounting or finance degree, relevant coursework, or internship experience who understand fundamental accounting concepts and are interested in developing their professional careers.

Compensation

$24.00–$26.00 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications.
