Openwork is hiring an experienced Packaging Specialist for a leading metals manufacturing facility in Northeast Houston. If you have experience in packaging, material handling, and forklift operation and are looking for a long-term opportunity with room to grow, this could be the right fit for you. We're looking for dependable individuals who take pride in producing quality work, maintaining a safe workplace, and contributing to a successful production team.

What You'll Do:

• Package finished products according to customer and shipping specifications.
• Verify dimensions, counts, labels, and product quality before shipment.
• Read and follow work orders, packing instructions, and shipping documents.
• Build pallets, crate, band, shrink-wrap, and prepare products for shipment.
• Operate a forklift to move and stage materials.
• Inspect products for defects and report any quality concerns.
• Clean products and maintain an organized work area.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures.

What We're Looking For:

• 2+ years of manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or material handling experience required.
• Forklift experience required (forklift assessment conducted during the interview).
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift 5075 pounds and remain active throughout a 10-hour shift.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Reliable attendance and strong commitment to workplace safety.

Safety & Work Environment:

• Work with lead-based materials in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Required use of PPE, including a half-mask respirator.
• Must be clean-shaven each workday for proper respirator fit.
• Daily showering after each shift and periodic blood testing are required.
• Fast-paced, team-oriented workplace focused on safety and quality.
