The positions at this site work first, second, or third shift. The site may work holidays, weekends, and overtime, offering shift premium and holiday pay when applicable. We're offering a $1,000 bonus after 90 days for this position! The site is in Stow, Ohio north of Akron near Interstate 91 and Interstate 59. This facility works in concert with the Valley View site and manufactures compression molded, close tolerance-machined composite parts for major aerospace, commercial, and military aircraft engine manufacturers worldwide. This position requires U.S. citizenship to obtain any required Export Authorization due to required Export Compliance. To perform this job successfully, the individual must be flexible, adaptable, dependable, reliable, and able to adjust to various challenges (such as changes to schedule, work environment, materials, and tooling). Machinists must possess solid communication skills (i.e., oral, written, and listening) be detailed oriented, and have good organizational skills. Associates must be self-motivated, and able to work independently or in a group environment. Successful candidates are required to complete a skills demonstration, several hours of interviewing, and pre-employment screening activities. Your key responsibilities will be: Set up and operate a wide range of machine tools, both CNC and manual such as grinders, mills, lathes, and hones on a diverse range of products involving difficult operations, aerospace tolerances, and complex shapes. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines. Work from and read blueprints as well as setting and checking work to various quality control gauges. Monitor product quality and troubleshoot to determine causes of operating errors and make decisions to solve any errors. Confer with engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information. Understand written instructions and be willing and able to communicate those instructions to others Read process instructions and drawings and recognize/attend to details Participate in customer audits and complete the Certified Operator Program (COP), DVV's intensive, skills-based validation and training program. Audit processes to ensure compliance with quality practices and work instructions throughout the facility Monitor production processes and control product processes, obtaining samples, and loading products. Operate mobile transport equipment. Facilitate corrective and preventive action related to supplier quality problems and source inspection issues. In the process, machining associates will issue stop tags/hold tags where conditions warrant. Maintain quality metrics to facilitate positive, proactive operational change, Associates may be required to analyze non-conformance data, escapes, and other sources of data as well as identify continuous improvement opportunities that help drive the DVV Continuous Improvement plan, when appropriate. Job Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED equivalent. Minimum of 6 months' experience in a machining position OR in an educational training program for machining. Willing and able to work any shift based on the specific site requirements. Willing and able to work overtime (including weekends, evenings, and holidays) as needed. Experience in machining composites, metals, and/or aluminum extrusions. Demonstrated ability to use analog and manual gauges. Demonstrated ability to set up and operate manual and CNC equipment. Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and understand tolerance. Ability to read CNC programs. Proficient in shop math, including geometry and conversions. Knowledge of FANUC controls. Excellent problem-solving/troubleshooting skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strongly Preferred: 3+ years of machining experience. CNC machinist certification.
