Position Overview Position title: Assistant Project Scientist Salary range: $97,000 - $121,800 (A reasonable salary range estimate for this position). Position Description The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering within the Jacobs School of Engineering at UC San Diego is conducting an open search for a non‑tenure track Assistant Project Scientist in the area of Biomedical Interfaces and Systems. The successful candidate will develop a microfluidic pump, its integration with an implantable pulse generator (IPG) system, and the hermetic sealing and passivation validated in the pig animal model for 3-6 months of programmable drug delivery. Project Scientists are academic researchers expected to make significant and creative contributions to a research team, publish and conduct research under supervision, and may serve as Co‑Principal Investigators with members of the Professor or Research Scientist series. They do not serve as Principal Investigators, are encouraged to engage in university and public service, and have no formal teaching responsibilities. Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application): PhD degree in electrical engineering, materials science, physics, or a related area.
