The HR assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the human resources department. This position carries out responsibilities in multiple functional areas within the department.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Represent CARD in a professional, loyal, and ethical mannerFollow and support adherence to all rules and regulations in accordance with CARD’s policies and proceduresCollaboration and participation in HR initiatives, meetings, trainings and work productsHelp to research and comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulationsResponsible for background screening and onboarding compliance for new employees within assigned area; able to cover other areas and act as backup when neededConduct initial orientation to newly hired employees and follow up with outstanding itemsEnsures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility VerificationAuditing I-9 exception reporting and notify HR Manager of noncompliant I-9s following escalation proceduresResponsible for accurate communication to the Business Partners regarding specified clearances, certification, and credentialingMaintains and processes all Unemployment Notices in a timely and efficient mannerMonitor assigned email inbox and respond to inquiries in a timely mannerMaintain high level of confidentiality with company and employee documentsAttend and participate in meetings as requiredReporting, research, audits and other administrative tasks for the department, as assignedPerform other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor’s degree preferredPrior experience in administrative role preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalStrong organizational and time management skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skillsAttention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work full-time during normal business hoursAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamWORK ENVIRONMENT:Includes a typical remote office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to sit for prolonged periods of timeAbility to work on a computer throughout the majority of the day, as tasks requireAbility to use and speak on the phone or via teleconference, as needed throughout the dayClick to access EEOC Workplace PosterClick to access IER Right to Work Poster and E-Verify #J-18808-Ljbffr Center for Autism and Related Disorders, LLC
