Member Specialist

$17 - $25 per hour

Sam's Club

What you’ll do Provides member service. Maintains the checkout area. Resolves member issues and concerns. Promotes Sam’s Club products and services. Provides guidance and support to members regarding self‑service technology. Processes member purchases. Assists with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies and procedures for different membership and payment types. Follows company safety standards, procedures, and guidelines, including conducting safety sweeps. Follows proper procedures for handling merchandise and reports unsafe situations to facility management. Maintains entrance areas, acknowledges members, verifies membership cards, and identifies member needs. Assists members with purchasing decisions, locates merchandise, promotes the company's products, zones the area, arranges and organizes merchandise, assists members with transporting items and maintains a safe shopping environment. Maintains exit areas, reviews member receipts, acknowledges the member, and protects Sam’s Club assets by observing and communicating potential criminal activity as per company policies. Maintains paperwork, logs, and other required documentation, executes emergency response procedures, and ensures compliance with company security and safety practices. Assists with the training of Member Frontline Services associates on company processes and procedures, teaches new technology and tool functionality, delivers new program rollout training, and provides continuous learning and process‑improvement opportunities. Ensures area of responsibility is maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures by properly handling returns, zoning the area, arranging and organizing merchandise, and identifying shrink and damages. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans and applying them in executing business processes and practices. Completes work assignments and priorities using policies, data, and resources, collaborating with managers, co‑workers, customers, and other business partners; determines priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carries out tasks; communicates progress and information; recommends ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapts to and learns from change, difficulties, and feedback. Respects individual differences, builds strong and trusting relationships, and communicates with impact, energy, and positivity to motivate and influence. Strengthens the team by mentoring others, recognizing contributions, and fostering a culture of belonging. Acts with integrity, maintains high standards of ethics, models the Walmart values, holds staff accountable, and supports Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company. Provides customer‑first service, makes decisions based on reliable information, balances short‑ and long‑term priorities, and considers the impact of work on stakeholders. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met. Minimum Qualifications Retail experience including operating front‑end equipment (e.g., cash register) and working with mobile retail applications. Preferred Qualifications None listed.
