You will be a highly visible technical resource working on architecting complex robotics system from requirement establishment, test approach and tool selection, and traceability matrices in close collaboration with software engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, controls, supply chain & manufacturing, and other functions. The main objective is to ensure complete requirements coverage with a harmonized test plan for all levels of testing. This role is suited for an experienced, R&D lead engineer with a strong track record of requirements writing, test design, definition, and implementation for complex robotics systems. The initial phase is to support successful exit of V&V phase, followed by design transfer, and product launch. You will have a great opportunity to lead system integration and test process, define optimal requirement layers, specify verification approach, support development of test tools, and support development of test protocols that pave the path to successful system development and launch.Key Responsibilities:Leads the design of system integration and test approach from components, PCBAs, subassemblies, assemblies, and subsystem to system level with focus on software and controls.Derives strategies to detect issues and faults at the appropriate levels of assembliesWorks closely with different cross functional teams to generate/refine the appropriate requirements at optimal integration levelsDerives strategies for system diagnostics and to monitor system performances matricesAuthors/co-authors relevant documents such as integration and test architecture and plans, test protocols, test methods, test reports, analyses, and system documentationSupports a variety of multi-disciplinary technical and process improvement projects of different sizes and scopesSupports establishment of traceability matrices for all levels of requirementsCommunicates information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and written) with stakeholders, project teamManages and deliver assigned projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams within agreed delivery timelinesMight mentor less experienced engineersQualifications:Minimum of 12 years' electromechanical R&D engineering experience, preferably in the medical device industry required. Some years of experience in other heavily regulated industries will be considered.Master's degree in Software, Controls, Mechatronics, Electrical, Robotics, or a closely related field is required. Exceptional undergraduate candidates will be considered.Outstanding documentation and communication skills requiredExperience in managing complex engineering projects requiredMust have previous experience launching complex electromechanical systemsMust have MATLAB/Simulink proficiency. LabVIEW proficiency is desiredMust have strong technical and analytical abilities including DOE, FMEA, and statistical analysesMust be proficient in design control proceduresWorking knowledge of applicable medical device regulatory standards i.e.: FDA 21CFR 820, ISO 13485, IEC 60601, ISO 14971, etc is desiredAble to execute multiple assigned projects and duties with minimal supervisionMust be a self-starter with strong leadership skills and deep technical competenciesWho we are: We are a team of more than 72,000 highly dedicated Healthineers in more than 70 countries. Sustainably.The base pay range for this position is:$165,490 - $227,546Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan.
