Preconstruction Manager

Overview Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing female-owned, HUB-certified commercial construction firm and looking for an Estimator or Preconstruction Manager to join and help lead the team. You will play a critical role in the pre-construction planning by managing estimates, take-offs, and collaborating with subcontractors and suppliers. The Precon Manager oversees the commercial construction project's preconstruction phase, managing the budgeting, planning, and risk assessment to ensure the project aligns with the owner's goals before construction begins. Key responsibilities include creating budgets, developing project strategies, coordinating with design teams and subcontractors, and managing client relationships to set the project up for success. Base pay range $80,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr Additional compensation Annual Bonus Responsibilities Assist in preconstruction functions, including estimating and preparing proposals. Project Planning & Strategy: Develop project plans, strategies, and initial schedules to align with the owner's business goals Client Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and design teams, resolving challenges and representing the company positively. Solicit subcontractors to ensure comprehensive coverage of projects. Analyze project scopes for consistency among subcontractor proposals. Perform accurate quantity take-offs and participate in pre-bid meetings/site visits. Collaborate with the project team to prepare estimates and scopes of work. Qualifications At least 5+ years of experience in estimating or pre-construction project planning. Industry Expertise: A strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and building codes. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze technical data and make informed, adaptable decisions. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency with Procore, BlueBeam, and ProEst software is preferred. This role is a critical link between estimating and project execution.
