Shipping/Receiving Clerk - 1st Shift

Shipping/Receiving ClerkWe are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Shipping and Receiving Clerk to support operations in our aerospace fittings manufacturing facility. This role requires wearing multiple hats and playing a critical part in the receipt, inspection, and handling of incoming materials and outgoing products. The ideal candidate will be actively involved in handling and inspecting materials as they arrive—touching and verifying nearly every piece entering the facility for inventory or pending sale. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, comfort with precision measurement tools, and the ability to learn a wide variety of part types and inspection requirements.Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:Receive, unload, and inspect incoming raw materials, outside processing materials, and other componentsPhysically handle and verify materials upon receipt, ensuring accuracy for inventory or customer ordersPerform detailed inspection for: Quality standards Dimensional accuracy (using calipers and measurement tools) Proper coding and identificationUtilize precision tools such as calipers and weight scales to verify part specificationsUnderstand that materials vary widely; there is no single standard receiving process—training and on-the-job learning are essentialAccurately document inventory movements in ERP/inventory systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar)Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Purchasing teams to ensure material flow aligns with operationsPrepare, package, and label outgoing shipments in compliance with customer and aerospace requirementsMaintain an organized, clean, and safe work environmentPerform inventory cycle counts and resolve discrepanciesOperate manual pallet jacks; forklift operation may follow completion of company trainingFollow all company policies, safety regulations, and aerospace industry standardsWork Environment & Physical Requirements:100% on your feet during shiftsFrequent lifting, handling, and movement of materials (up to 40 lbs.)Hands-on role requiring continuous physical activity and attention to detailQualifications & Requirements:High school diploma or GED requiredRequired: Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers and scalesStrong comfort with dimensional readings and basic inspection techniques (core requirement)2+ years of experience in shipping/receiving, manufacturing, or similar hands-on role preferredMechanical aptitude and ability to quickly learn product variations and inspection requirementsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsBasic computer skills (ERP systems, email, Excel)Ability to adapt to a wide variety of materials and processesForklift experience is helpful but not required (training provided)Preferred Qualifications:Experience in aerospace or manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with inventory control systems and compliance standards (MIL-STD, etc.)Understanding of ITAR, EAR, and export compliance regulationsNesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
