Network Administrator II

Job Purpose

The Networking Administrator II provides technical support for end-users with an emphasis on maintaining and optimizing our network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance of our network systems, and providing advanced technical support to end-users. Interacts closely with server/storage, cybersecurity, and help desk teams to resolve network issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless networks to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Manage and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other related equipment.
• Perform routine network updates, patches, and configurations.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Provide Level 2 support for network-related issues, escalating to Level 3 support or external vendors as needed.
• Work closely with the IT Help Desk and other IT teams to resolve technical problems quickly and effectively.
• Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
• Maintain accurate records of network incidents, changes, and performance metrics.
• Enforce and follow EnerSys policies and procedures
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education & Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in network administration, systems administration, or a related IT infrastructure role.
• Prior help desk, desktop support, or PC-related experience preferred.

Technical Skills

• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, and BGP.
• Proficiency in network security principles, practices, and tools.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems (server and workstation environments).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Working knowledge of PC hardware, peripheral devices, and printing systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Additional Requirements

• Availability to provide after-hours or weekend support for system upgrades, maintenance activities, and emergency situations.
• Participation in an after-hours on-call rotation is required.

Travel Requirements : Occasional travel to company facilities or remote sites may be required.
