About the Role

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President (AVP) for Leadership Giving to join their mission of accelerating life-changing breakthroughs in the treatment and prevention of type 1 diabetes. The AVP will be a senior leader in the fundraising team, responsible for driving regional revenue growth, managing a small team of gift officers, and leading all principal gift strategy decisions. This role requires a proactive and strategic individual with a proven track record in major gift fundraising, including the successful closure of gifts in the $1M+ range. The AVP will be expected to balance frontline donor engagement with operational management, staff development, and be a key player in the organization's most significant donor relationships. Candidates for the AVP position should have a minimum of 10 years' progressive fundraising experience, with at least 5 years in major gift fundraising, and a strong background in managing and developing fundraising teams. The role demands excellent project management, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed organization. The AVP will be responsible for team leadership, revenue accountability, and will be the primary driver of the transformational gift pipeline. A Bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree or CFRE preferred, and proficiency in Salesforce or a comparable CRM is essential. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, sound professional judgment, and a genuine commitment to the mission of the organization.
