Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Location: Syracuse, NY

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

• Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Respiratory Therapy required
• Active New York State Respiratory Therapist license and registration required
• Minimum 2 years of post-graduate acute care respiratory therapy experience required
• Pediatric experience preferred
• Must successfully complete pre-employment health clearance
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required

• 12-Hour Shifts
• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Nights)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required based on scheduled rotation

We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care services in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will be skilled in advanced respiratory therapies, ventilator management, emergency response, and cardiopulmonary support while delivering exceptional patient care.

• Administer positive pressure and aerosol therapies
• Initiate, monitor, and manage oxygen therapy
• Assist physicians with the initiation and maintenance of mechanical ventilation
• Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency respiratory support
• Perform pulmonary function testing
• Conduct radial arterial punctures and specimen collection
• Monitor patient responses to respiratory treatments and therapies
• Assess respiratory status and communicate findings to the healthcare team
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
• Adhere to all safety, infection prevention, and quality standards

• Mechanical ventilation management
• Oxygen therapy administration
• Aerosol and positive pressure therapies
• Pulmonary function testing
• Arterial blood gas collection
• Emergency respiratory care
• Critical thinking and patient assessment
• Acute care respiratory therapy

• Pediatric respiratory care experience
• Experience working in fast-paced acute care environments
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
