Pharmacy TechnicianAs part of a dynamic team at Charles River Community Health (CRCH), a healthcare practice providing compassionate care to underserved communities, the Pharmacy Technician will play a key role to assist the pharmacy team in the preparation, billing, and dispensing of prescription and OTC medications to Charles River Community Health Pharmacy patients. CRCH Pharmacies are on-site pharmacies that are designed to provide exceptional outpatient pharmacy services to CRCH and community patients.This is a great opportunity to learn and grow. Student Pharmacists are encouraged to apply!Full-time hours where you can make a difference in a community setting.Less scripts than most retail pharmacies leaving room for more impactful patient interaction.Strong collaboration with providers and healthcare team.Gain practical experience using EPIC.Opportunity to learn more about 340b.Ample orientation and training.Support from an amazing team!Your responsibilities include:Provide exceptional personal customer service and accommodate patient needs in a timely, efficient, and caring manner.Assist in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications while maintaining productivity as well as regulatory and quality standards.Maintain patient records and prescription information using a pharmacy computer system.Perform duties in an accurate, timely, knowledgeable, thorough, and complete manner.Answer telephone calls in a timely, professional manner.Under the direction and supervision of the pharmacist on duty:Take stock bottles from the shelf for prescriptionsReconstitute prescriptionsLabel prescription containersPrepare unit-dose, modified unit-dose, and medication cardsPerform other duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy or designee.Your qualifications, competencies, traits include:High School diploma or equivalent required.Active MA Pharmacy Technician Registration required.Certified Pharmacy Technician licensed by passing the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam preferred.Strong verbal and written communications skills and excellent customer service skills required.Must be flexible and be able to work different schedules to meet the needs of the pharmacy and organization. (Pharmacy hours are 8:30am - 7:00pm Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs; 8:30am – 5:00pm Fri, and 8:30am – 1:00pm Sat)Demonstrate competent working knowledge of pharmacy claims adjudication.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.Possess ability to troubleshoot and solve problems preferred.Must be organized and able to prioritize tasks preferred.Must be adaptable, with a willingness to learn new responsibilities preferred.Prior recent experience (1-2yrs) in a retail community setting preferred.Knowledge of 340B Drug Pricing Program preferred.Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.PioneerRX Experience preferred but not required.Must have a willingness to work flexible hours to meet the organization's needs/demands.Must be able to travel to either Charles River Community Health site (Brighton and Waltham) as needed.Must have excellent communication skills, particularly with people from diverse cultures, with the ability to understand the community, population, and patients we serve.Must have experience in diverse cultures, with strong commitment to promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and reducing inequities.Must believe in the work we do at CRCH, with a strong passion to serve underserved populations in diverse settings.Charles River Community Health's mission is to partner with individuals and families so they can thrive and lead healthier lives by delivering the comprehensive, integrated, and equitable primary healthcare that matters most to them.CRCH is a comprehensive practice providing medical, pharmacy, dental, behavioral health, optical, and vision services to diverse underserved local communities.
