And more! As a Billing Clerk, you would be asked to assist office teammates and all customers by handling office tasks, providing polite and professional assistance via phone and e-mail, and generally being a helpful and positive presence in the workplace.

Key responsibilities include:

• Documenting detailed notes on accounts as needed to communicate account status and to document account queries for both internal and external parties.
• Identifying trends affecting the client's A/R; collaborating with the operational team to ensure the client's account and working it daily on a timely basis.
• Reviewing the status of open accounts and contacting insurance companies and customers to resolve unpaid claims.
• Entering customer and insurance information in Workcenter2.0 and Excel spreadsheets.
• Answering or returning phone calls to customers or clients regarding account status in a timely manner.
• Contacting and/or checking insurance company portals to resolve payment denials and claim correction issues.
• Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances.
• Filing charges and payments in accordance with the current filing methods in place.
• Following management policies and procedures.
• Reporting compliance concerns.
• Participating in corrective action for compliance-related issues as needed.
• Cooperating with compliance auditing and investigations.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Accepting additional responsibilities willingly.
• Cross-training on all systems to ensure a check and balance internally.

Position requirements include:

• High school diploma/GED (preferred)
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

This is a role in a fast-paced office environment. Some filing is required which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bending or standing as necessary. Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law.
