Position Title: Senior IT Manager (Banking or Regulated financial Services)

Location: New York, NY (Onsite)

Reports To: Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Position Overview:
Senior IT Manager partners directly with the CIO to drive IT strategic planning, strengthen technology governance, and ensure flawless execution of enterprise IT initiatives. This leader maintains strict alignment with audit, regulatory, and industry standards while bringing deep enterprise technology expertise and strong financial-services awareness. As a trusted advisor, they provide organizational insight and step in for the CIO when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership: Support the CIO in shaping and executing the organization's IT strategy, delivering performance updates, dashboards, and metrics to senior leadership.

Infrastructure & Support: Oversee performance, availability, and continuous improvement of enterprise infrastructure and support services to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Incident Management: Lead major incident response, ensuring rapid coordination, clear communication, thorough root cause analysis, and durable corrective actions.

Financial & Resource Management: Manage IT budgeting, technology investment planning, and resource allocation to optimize financial and operational outcomes.

Regulatory Compliance: Track evolving regulatory and industry standards, ensuring IT policies and controls remain compliant with NYDFS, FFIEC, and cybersecurity frameworks.

Risk Management: Partner with Information Security and Operational Risk teams to strengthen IT risk management and mitigation practices.

Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate seamlessly with external vendors, internal and external auditors, and global/Head Office technology teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: 15+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or management capacity within the financial services or banking sector.

Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, cloud/hybrid environments, IT service management, and major incident leadership.

Regulatory Acumen: Hands-on experience implementing and auditing controls under NYDFS, FFIEC, and standard cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).

Financial Acumen: Proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar IT operational and capital budgets, vendor negotiations, and resource planning.

Soft Skills: Exceptional executive presence, stakeholder management, and communication skills with the ability to act as a surrogate for the CIO.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
