The Best Stop Cajun Market is seeking a highly skilled General Manager Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Asst General Manager to lead our team and oversee the operations of The Best Stop Cajun Market, a popular and fast-paced market specializing in authentic Cajun food products. The selected candidate will have extensive experience in managing all aspects of our business, including inventory management, food preparation, customer service, and staff training and development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, a track record of driving revenue growth and operational efficiency, and excellent leadership and communication skills. The Best Stop Supermarket is a family-owned Cajun market specializing in boudin and cracklins, originating from South Louisiana. With over 37 years of experience, we take pride in being the best in the business. Our Katy location is expanding to offer a wide variety of specialty meats, premade gumbo, crawfish etouffee, and much more. We are also opening a deli that will cook to order some of our Best Stop favorites, along with a different plate lunch every day of the week. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth and profitability Ensure that food quality, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained at all times Manage inventory levels and ordering of supplies to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize waste Recruit, train, and manage a team of cooks, and front-of-house staff to provide excellent customer service Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, such as sales, food costs, and labor costs, and take corrective action as needed Maintain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers Ensure that food quality, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained at all times Manage budget and financial performance to achieve established goals Continuously evaluate and improve business operations to enhance the customer experience and increase efficiency Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality management, or related field preferred 5+ years of experience in hot and cold food service management, including experience in a leadership role Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and customer service Proven track record of driving revenue growth and operational efficiency Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and make sound decisions under pressure Ability to thrive in a team environment, work collaboratively, and motivate others towards common goals Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Familiarity with industry regulations and standards, including health and safety regulations Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed The Best Stop Supermarket is a family owned cajun market that specializes in boudin and cracklins, which is a delicacy originating in South Louisiana. Along with boudin and cracklins, the Best Stop carries a wide variety of specialty meats that are seasoned and marinated with the finest cajun seasonings. The first Best Stop opened in 1986 and after 39 years, the family prides themself on being the best specialty meats originating from Louisiana. In addition to specialty meats and boudin, the Katy location serves premade gumbo, crawfish etouffee, rice dressing, deboned stuffed chicken, fresh sausage, marinated meats, crawfish tails, king cakes, hamburger patties and all the favorite Best Stop Cajun seasonings and sauces. The Katy location includes a deli that cooks to order some of the Best Stop favorites.
