Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a contract Occupational Therapist in a vibrant academic setting near Portland, OR. This part-time position (.4 FTE) offers you the chance to enhance your professional skills while making a significant impact on the daily lives of children in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- State licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience working in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong communication skills with students, parents, and faculty
- Ability to create individualized treatment plans and adapt to changing needs
- Proficiency with assessment and documentation tools relevant to school settings
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, and independence in classroom activities
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans in collaboration with IEP teams
- Deliver direct and consultative therapy services within classroom, small group, or one-on-one settings
- Maintain thorough documentation, tracking student progress and communicating updates to stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and families to support students’ overall educational success
- Participate in IEP meetings, provide recommendations, and help adapt classroom strategies
