Payroll Specialist

Pay Range: up to $32/HR, depending on experience Job Type: Contract-to-Hire LHH is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a growing Healthcare organization in Nashville, TN ! This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while supporting a dynamic, people-first environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and brings a strong understanding of payroll processes—preferably within healthcare or a multi-site environment. Key Responsibilities Process bi-weekly payroll for a multi-entity, multi-state workforce with a high degree of accuracy Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, deductions, and adjustments Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax withholdings and reporting Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner Coordinate with HR and Accounting teams to ensure alignment on employee data, benefits, and compensation changes Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and audits Support process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy Qualifications 3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a healthcare or high-volume environment Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices Experience with payroll systems and MS Excel required High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Benefit offerings include PTO, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, and 401K plan.
