Technical Sales Engineer

JenKem Technology specializes in the large-scale GMP manufacture of high-quality polyethylene glycol (PEG) derivatives, PEG co-polymers, monodisperse PEGs, and custom synthesis and PEGylation services. Since 2001, the company has supplied PEG derivatives for research and development, clinical trials, and commercial applications to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and diagnostic companies worldwide. Key Responsibilities: Manage assigned customer accounts and sales opportunities for PEG products, custom synthesis, and PEGylation services, while supporting sales, business development, and marketing initiatives to drive revenue growth. Develop and execute sales and account development strategies, build relationships with existing and prospective customers, and identify new business opportunities. Analyze customer technical requirements and recommend appropriate PEG products, custom synthesis solutions, and services based on customer needs and project objectives. Serve as a technical and commercial contact for customers throughout the sales process, providing product information, technical consultation, quotations, follow-up, and ongoing support. Exercise independent judgment in evaluating and prioritizing sales leads, business opportunities, and customer needs to support business growth. Collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Operations, and other internal teams to develop customer solutions and resolve technical or commercial issues. Monitor industry trends, competitive products, customer needs, and emerging technologies to identify market opportunities and support sales and business development strategies. Support marketing activities, including product presentations, marketing materials, digital content, promotional campaigns, trade shows, conferences, and other lead-generation activities. Follow up on leads generated through customer inquiries, marketing activities, conferences, and trade shows to develop new business opportunities. Prepare sales forecasts, account development plans, pricing recommendations within established company guidelines, and periodic business reports. Maintain accurate customer activities, sales forecasts, market intelligence, and opportunity pipelines in the CRM system. Perform other professional duties and projects as assigned to support the company's sales, business development, and marketing objectives. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related life science discipline. Ability to understand complex scientific products, analyze customer requirements, and communicate technical concepts effectively. Strong interest in technical sales, business development, and marketing within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life science industries. Strong consultative selling, communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills. Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities and build relationships with prospective and existing customers. Ability to exercise sound judgment, prioritize multiple projects and opportunities, and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software. Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to collaborate effectively across multiple departments. Willingness to travel as needed for customer visits, scientific conferences, trade shows, and other business development activities.
