Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Take a leadership role in launching a new specialty pharmacy as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) in Lufkin, TX. This direct hire position offers a unique opportunity to oversee the build-out, licensing, and operational startup of a cutting-edge specialty pharmacy serving outpatient and retail patients.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state pharmacy laws and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Serve as the designated PIC with accountability for licensure, controlled substance oversight, and regulatory inspections.
• Manage daily pharmacy operations including dispensing accuracy, patient safety, and clinical protocol adherence.
• Lead onboarding of insurance contracts and collaborate with regulatory bodies and accrediting organizations.
• Develop and enforce policies for prescription processing, drug storage, and security.
• Supervise and train pharmacy staff to maintain quality and education standards.
• Collaborate with specialty care clinics to optimize patient outcomes and medication access.
• Handle medication incident investigations and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Oversee inventory management, procurement, and specialty drug handling.
• Participate in strategic planning for pharmacy growth and value-based care implementation.
• Act as the clinical expert supporting patient counseling, medication substitutions, and prior authorizations.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience as Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager in outpatient/retail specialty pharmacy settings required; inpatient experience is not suitable.
• Licensed Pharmacist with an active, unrestricted license eligible for PIC designation in Texas.
• Proven leadership and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with specialty medication benefits, prior authorizations, financial assistance, and appeal letter composition.
• Comfortable collaborating with providers, patients, and care teams in both person and remote settings.
• Proficient with pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, ComputerRx, PioneerRx) and EMR or specialty pharmacy systems a strong plus.
• Advanced degree (PharmD or equivalent).

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, hours to be determined
• Onsite role with required relocation to Lufkin, TX
