This role is responsible for evaluating project opportunities, performing detailed takeoffs, developing scopes of work, and delivering accurate, buildable estimates that support profitable project execution.

Position Summary

The Commercial Roofing Estimator is responsible for developing complete and accurate estimates for new construction and reroofing projects. This individual will work closely with Operations, Project Management, and Leadership to ensure projects are properly scoped, priced, and positioned for successful execution.

The ideal candidate understands that estimating is more than numbers—it is identifying risk, creating clarity, and setting the Operations Team up for success.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Preconstruction

• Review incoming project opportunities and bid invitations
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and material calculations
• Develop complete scopes of work
• Prepare labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
• Evaluate drawings, specifications, and project requirements
• Identify and document risks, assumptions, exclusions, and special conditions
• Submit proposals in accordance with client and GC requirements

Pipeline Management

• Track active bids and proposal deadlines
• Maintain visibility of pending opportunities
• Respond to RFIs, clarifications, and scope revisions
• Coordinate priorities and workload with leadership

Project Handoff

• Participate in Estimator-to-Project Manager handoff meetings
• Transfer all project documentation and estimate assumptions
• Clearly communicate scope inclusions, exclusions, and project risks

Continuous Improvement

• Participate in post-project reviews

Qualifications

Required

• 1+ years of commercial roofing estimating experience
• Experience estimating reroof and/or new construction roofing projects
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents
• Understanding of commercial roofing systems including:
• • TPO
  • PVC
  • EPDM
  • Modified Bitumen
  • Built-Up Roofing
  • Metal Roofing Systems
  • Shingle Roofing
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software

Preferred

• Experience with The EDGE, RoofSnap, Planswift, On-Screen Takeoff, Stack, or similar platforms
• Experience working with General Contractors and negotiated projects
• Knowledge of construction scheduling and project execution processes
