The nurse will work with tele, surgical, and advanced care patients. Patient ratios typically run 1:4 or 1:5 on a 39-bed unit. The nurse will be responsible for managing a variety of patient diagnoses. These include medical-surgical issues, advanced care, COPD, CHF, sepsis, and cardiac issues such as AFib. Experience with a wide range of skills including IV therapy, telemetry, and managing cardiac drips is essential. Floating may be required to different units based on patient needs and skill sets. The nurse will need to provide comprehensive care to adults and geriatric patients. An understanding of isolation precautions and equipment management is crucial. Maintaining a high level of patient care and safety is expected at all times. The position is a unique opportunity to enhance skills in a challenging environment.
