Position Summary

We are looking for a Loan Servicing Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial growth environment. The Loan Servicing Specialist will assist with the workflow for all performing and non-performing loans from onboarding through payoff in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Servicing functions include but are not limited to onboarding, customer service, collections, workouts, REO, payoffs, insurance, taxes, QC, and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Process new loans in the systems for set up, onboarding and loan servicing
• Track insurance, taxes, and other escrows for portfolio loans
• Track insurance lapses and issue forced placed insurance, as required
• Handle borrower correspondence including bills, notifications, statements, etc.
• Track loan maturities and follow up with borrowers on extensions and payoffs
• Review loan payoffs and obtain approval and/or updates prior to accounting wires
• Manage customer service and collections activities
• Prepare discharges for execution
• Administer all servicing systems (e.g., TMO) including managing vendors, developing new functionality, troubleshooting errors, user support, creating reports, etc.
• Provide QC for closing packages, closing instructions, and other documents
• Proactively provide portfolio oversight through the identification of customer credit deterioration and/or payment non-performance
• Ensure compliance with all applicable servicing related laws and regulations
• Assist and train servicing employees and other employees, as required
• Maintain and update the Servicing Policy and Procedure Manual
• Ad hoc projects, as assigned

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of mortgage servicing concepts, practices and procedures
• Experience creating and implementing servicing metrics and data analytics
• Strong working knowledge of MS office and Sharepoint
• Experience with The Mortgage Office (TMO) preferred
• Experience developing business requirements and configuring servicing systems a plus
• Strong attention to detail
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service, conflict management, teamwork and coaching
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently within established timeframes
• Naturally inquisitive with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in daily activities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure with tight deadlines and constant interruptions
• Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic and high level of personal accountability
• Positive personality with a high level of integrity
• Valid drivers license

Education & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or related field
• 3+ years of mortgage servicing experience required
• Knowledge of Residential Transition / Commercial Loans and Construction Draws a plus
