ServiceNow Developer – AWS / ITOM Discovery

Employment Type: Permanent

Work Location: Onsite 3–5 days per week

Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain SSA Public Trust clearance

Job Summary

Our Client is seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow Developer with AWS expertise to support the Client’s modernization and cloud discovery initiatives. This role provides senior development support and solution leadership, ensuring secure, accurate, and scalable visibility into the Client’s AWS environments within the ServiceNow platform.

The candidate will analyze Client technical requirements, develop solution architectures, maximize automation across ITOM and Discovery, and deliver operational reporting aligned with federal standards. The role also involves mentoring junior developers and providing technical guidance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead configuration and troubleshooting of ServiceNow Discovery for AWS, including MID Servers, discovery schedules, credentials, and custom cloud discovery patterns.
\n
• Discover and maintain multi-account AWS environments using ServiceNow, ensuring accurate CMDB relationships across organizations, accounts, regions, VPCs, EC2, and IAM resources.
\n
• Create and maintain cloud identification rules, reconciliation logic, and CMDB data quality controls specific to AWS assets.
\n
• Implement and support AWS authentication and authorization models used by ServiceNow, including IAM roles, access policies, and STS.
\n
• Design architecture roadmaps and operational documentation supporting the Client’s ITOM and cloud governance objectives.
\n
• Assist with prototyping, technical reviews, and Client-facing requirement discussions.
\n
• Mentor ServiceNow Developers and contribute to overall platform maturity within the Client environment.

Minimum Qualifications

\n
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Client Public Trust clearance.
\n
• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of professional ServiceNow development experience across ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, and Discovery.
\n
• Working knowledge of AWS Organizations and Accounts, VPC networking, EC2, IAM, and multi-account resource relationships.
\n
• Hands-on experience discovering AWS cloud environments using ServiceNow Discovery and MID Servers.
\n
• Practical understanding of how ServiceNow uses IAM, temporary credentials, and cross-account roles for cloud scanning.
\n
• Experience developing system architecture diagrams, cloud discovery patterns, and operational reporting.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical solutions clearly to Client stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications

\n
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
\n
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
\n
• CIS certifications in Discovery, Service Mapping, ITSM, or ITOM.
\n
• Experience supporting federal agencies or large-scale public sector programs.
\n
• Experience with JavaScript, REST/SOAP integrations, and workflow automation.
\n
• Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification as a baseline.
