Project Manager - Electrical (Buildings)

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Manager- Electrical (Buildings) for our Minneapolis, MN office location to work with our Property & Buildings Team. Plans and conducts work requiring judgment regarding the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Successfully completes medium to large size engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements. Works closely with a Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer for technical review and guidance. Your ImpactDevelop and evaluate system concepts and options to determine best design and engineering solution for each project based upon project scopeDevelop design drawings and specifications for building electrical systems constructionLead and coordinate with engineers, designers and clerical staffInterface with clients to discuss changes to designs and/or specificationsPerform systems analysis and prepare reports and studies as well as cost estimatesDirectly responsible for distribution of all approved drawings and specificationsCoordinate with other design team members including architect, mechanical, and structural engineers to ensure electrical systems are integrated with all tradesWork as a team member with construction team project manager, and fabrication and installation crewsAttend design team meetings as requiredWork with leadership to manage design manpower budget and update budget to reflect revisions or changes in scopeRepresent the company in a professional manner in all dealings with owners, architects, vendors, other design professionals and contractorsAssisting in the firm’s human resource efforts through training and mentoring junior firm membersWork closely with marketing, leadership and business developmentPerform other duties as assignedWho You AreRequired QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or closely related discipline.7+ years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline and prior mechanical design experience. Strong organizational, prioritization, decision making and analytical skillsPossess strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasive and interpersonal skillsEffective business development skillsAbility to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly collaborative team environmentAbility to consistently set goals and meet deadlines and adapt to flexible responsibilitiesProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Experienced in the use of RevitExperience with Horizon or Project Resource Management software is desiredAbility to meet and exceed client expectationsPreferred Qualifications LEED accredited professional desired.Engineering licensure desired.40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.
