Dietary Aide

Burlington Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable and team-oriented Dietary Aide to join our Food Services team. In this role, you’ll help prepare, serve, and deliver meals and snacks to our residents while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment.

You’ll work alongside the Dietitian, Director of Food Services, and dietary team to support high-quality food service and the nutritional needs of our residents.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with food preparation, meal service, and delivery of food trays.

• Prepare and deliver snacks according to residents’ needs and established guidelines.

• Serve meals using proper portion-control procedures.

• Ensure meals are attractive, appetizing, and served appropriately.

• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, equipment, utensils, and food-service spaces.

• Sweep and mop floors and maintain clean food storage areas.

• Follow food safety, sanitation, infection-control, and facility procedures.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Report concerns or issues to the Dietitian or Director of Food Services.

• Treat residents with dignity, respect, and confidentiality at all times.

• Work collaboratively with dietary staff and other members of the care team.

• Follow all applicable safety and workplace policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Reliable and dependable with a positive, team-oriented attitude.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with residents, families, staff, and visitors.

• Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions within the scope of the position.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the workday as required.

• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and additional hours when needed.

• Previous dietary, food service, healthcare, or long-term care experience is a plus.

This position is performed in a healthcare food-service environment and may involve:

• Working around hot food, kitchen equipment, and warm areas.

• Exposure to food odors and frequent interruptions.

• Potential exposure to infectious materials and healthcare-related conditions.

• Potential workplace hazards such as slips, falls, and burns.

All employees are expected to follow appropriate safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
