Senior Staff Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join a collaborative accounting team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, treasury activities, compliance reporting, and tax-related accounting functions.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys a broad range of responsibilities and has experience with corporate tax reporting, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and recurring monthly accounting transactions.
  
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.
  
• Complete account reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies.
  
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
  
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
  
• Support treasury activities, including cash management and bank reconciliations.
  
• Maintain documentation and support external audit requests.
  
• Prepare and support various tax-related filings and compliance activities.
  
• Assist with corporate tax calculations and estimated tax payments.
  
• Prepare property tax reports and supporting schedules.
  
• Complete census and other recurring regulatory reporting requirements.
  
• Communicate directly with taxing authorities, including the IRS, regarding account inquiries and compliance matters.
  
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
  
• Maintain documentation related to licenses, permits, insurance, and regulatory filings.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  
• CPA designation preferred.
  
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  
• Experience with corporate tax reporting, estimated tax payments, property tax filings, and regulatory reporting strongly preferred.
  
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
  
• Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and accountability.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including interaction with external agencies and taxing authorities.
  

This is an immediate need so applicants should be available to start immediately. Hybrid flexibility is and option once trained.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $48.00 per hour
