Director of Legal Recruiting

We are seeking an experienced Director of Legal Recruiting to join a leading law firm on a contract basis. This individual will provide senior-level leadership across the firm’s legal recruiting function, with a particular focus on the successful execution of the Summer Associate Program .
This is a highly visible, forward-facing role requiring a polished legal recruiting professional who can confidently partner with senior firm leadership, hiring committees, attorneys, and candidates.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the firm’s Summer Associate Program , including program planning, orientation, events, and overall execution
- Manage the day-to-day logistics and broader strategy associated with the summer program
- Serve as a senior point of contact for attorneys, hiring committees, candidates, and other key stakeholders
- Present recruiting updates and information to the firm’s Hiring Committee
- Participate in and provide leadership during Summer Associate orientation
- Attend Summer Associate events and programming, including the farewell event and other local activities
- Provide senior-level oversight and continuity across the legal recruiting function
- Partner closely with firm leadership and the existing recruiting team throughout the contract period
- Support lateral recruiting initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- Prior law firm legal recruiting experience required
- Significant hands-on experience running a Summer Associate Program required
- Strong understanding of the full Summer Associate Program lifecycle and its operational requirements
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills
- Highly polished and comfortable interacting with attorneys, senior leadership, and hiring committees
- Ability to operate independently and provide leadership in a fast-paced environment
- Prior lateral recruiting experience is preferred but not required
- Flexibility to attend Summer Associate events and participate in local travel as needed
