LunaCare Obstetrics & Gynecology is actively seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Women's Health Nurse Practitioner to join our esteemed team in Galveston, Texas. Work Environment

This full-time role requires the Nurse Practitioner to work onsite at a local school facility in Galveston. The work schedule consists of 40 hours per week from 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional requirements for evening and weekend shifts to accommodate patient needs and school activities. Our clinic environment fosters collaboration among healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial patient assessments, including detailed histories and thorough physical examinations.
• Develop, document, and communicate individualized care plans while coordinating follow-up to ensure effective patient management.
• Carry out daily patient rounds to assess progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary, ensuring transparency and effective communication with the patient and their families.
• Utilize medical knowledge to write orders for medications, laboratory tests, and diagnostic procedures, interpreting results to inform ongoing patient care.
• Engage in collaborative communication with attending physicians, nursing staff, and other professionals to provide the highest quality of care.
• Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries and ensure that patients understand their post-discharge care instructions.
• Address any queries from patients and their families regarding treatment plans, enhancing their understanding and compliance.
• Perform other essential duties and responsibilities as required to fulfill the organization's goals and comply with patient care standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will focus primarily on the women's health spectrum, including preventative care, reproductive health, and addressing various conditions affecting women at all life stages. You will have the opportunity to work with students and their families, promoting health education and fostering long-term wellness within the community.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
• National Board Certification in an applicable specialty area.
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and Registered Professional Nurse in Texas.
• A collaborative practice agreement filed with the Texas Department of State Health Services or equivalent documentation per Texas state regulations.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved provider.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of 1 year of prior experience in obstetrics, gynecology, or women's health is preferred. Familiarity with school health regulations and practices can be an advantage. Candidates with experience in using electronic health record systems to enhance patient care documentation will be highly regarded.

Compensation and Benefits
