Staff Accountant II

Job Description Summary As a Staff Accountant II working for Taylor Morrison you will work under management’s direction, perform professional accounting work including the examination, analysis, maintenance, reconciliation and verification of financial records, and related duties as required. Additionally, perform accurate and efficient accounts payable processing, and ensure accounting records are organized and fully auditable. Job Details Contribute with month end responsibilities, including preparing recurring journal entries Prepare weekly reports and distribution to Division management and Corporate office Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet account reconciliations Review and reconcile outside agent W‑9s Serve as main point of contact for vendors, resolving payment inquiries Serve as main point of contact for AP, distributing checks twice weekly to division Ad-Hoc duties and special projects as assigned by Assistant Controller and/or Division Controller Assist with internal and external auditors as needed Perform other duties as assigned What you will need: Competencies, Behaviors & Attributes Analytical Communication Detail Oriented Ethics & Integrity Prioritization Team Worker About You Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Strong desire to learn accounting skills in the homebuilding industry Strong analytical skills, high integrity, effective time management, and a positive, team-oriented attitude Previous experience in homebuilding/job costing accounting a plus Previous experience with Newstar a plus Strong Microsoft Excel skills (xlookups, pivot tables) Credit report in good standing FLSA Status Non-Exempt Compensation Salary Range: $26.81 - $38.91 Bonus: Up to 10% Staff Bonus Essential Functions Report to Division/Corporate Office/Community daily and adhere to schedule Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and/or electronic device Ability to have face to face conversations with customers, co-workers and higher level manager Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and move around work environment as needed Ability to operate a motor vehicle if applicable Comply with company policies and procedure Physical Demands Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Taylor Morrison experience and/or successful completion of training program may override required education and/or experience requirement.
