Project Accountant

Project AccountantOur client is seeking a Project Accountant to support complex project accounting, contract administration, and financial reporting activities. This individual will serve as a key liaison between project teams, customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate billing, contract compliance, cost tracking, and project closeout activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.• Maintain project revenue, cost tracking, and profitability reporting to ensure alignment with project forecasts• Prepare monthly revenue forecasts, accounts receivable updates, and financial project reporting• Assist with job reconciliation, final invoicing, commission calculations, and collection activities• Ensure project-related costs are accurately recorded and reflected in customer billing• Review contracts, project requirements, and compliance documentation for accuracy and adherence to contractual obligations• Coordinate insurance certificates, bonds, contract amendments, and other project documentation• Support bidding activities, prequalification requirements, and contract administration processes• Manage certified payroll, prevailing wage documentation, lien waivers, and subcontractor compliance requirements• Monitor project status, identify outstanding issues, and facilitate timely project closeout activities• Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, customers, subcontractors, HR, and finance teams to support project success• Track and maintain project documentation, reporting requirements, and compliance records• Communicate contract, billing, payroll, and project requirements to key stakeholders• 3+ years of accounting, cost accounting, project accounting, or related financial experience• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred• Experience supporting project-based accounting, billing, or contract administration functions• Knowledge of construction accounting, AIA billing, certified payroll, prevailing wage requirements, or subcontractor administration is preferred• Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounts receivable, and cost tracking principles• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy• Effective written and verbal communication skills• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel• Experience with ERP, accounting, billing, or project management systems preferred• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to issue resolution• Competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications• Performance-based bonus opportunities where applicable• Medical, dental, and vision insurance• 401(k) with company match• Paid time off and company holidays• Career growth and professional development opportunitiesFerretti Search is a specialized recruiting firm connecting top talent with leading organizations across the United States.
