Location: Houston, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $15.00/hour

Schedule: Part-Time | Monday-Friday | 6:45 AM-5:15 PM

Additional Schedule: Rotating weekends and some holidays

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and customer-focused Patient Escort to support a leading healthcare organization in Houston, TX . This is an excellent opportunity for someone with patient care or hospital experience who enjoys helping patients and families navigate their healthcare experience safely and comfortably.

Responsibilities

• Safely escort and transport hospital and ambulatory patients to their destinations using wheelchairs, stretchers, or hydraulic stretchers .

   

• Transport patients from designated hospital entry points to their first appointment or assigned destination in a timely and safe manner.

   

• Sanitize wheelchairs before each patient transport according to established high-touch disinfection and inspection protocols .

   

• Complete the required Daily Disinfection & Tracking Log for each patient transported.

   

• Follow equipment checklists and proper procedures when assisting patients on and off wheelchairs or stretchers.

   

• Ensure patients are positioned safely and comfortably throughout transportation.

   

• Provide courteous, professional, and compassionate service to patients, families, and caregivers.

   

• Demonstrate a positive and professional demeanor while interacting with patients and healthcare staff.

   

• Navigate the healthcare campus independently and efficiently.

   

• Follow directions and established transportation, safety, and infection-control procedures.

   

• Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and members of the healthcare team.

   

• Maintain consistent punctuality, attendance, and professionalism.

   

• Perform other patient transport duties as assigned.

   

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

   

• Minimum 1 year of patient care or patient escort experience preferred , preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.

   

• Strong customer service experience required.

   

• Ability to safely push at least 200 pounds using a wheelchair .

   

• Ability to assist patients with getting on and off wheelchairs or other transport equipment.

   

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

   

• Compassionate and patient-focused approach.

   

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and established safety procedures.

   

• Ability to navigate a large healthcare campus independently.

   

• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential .

   

• Ability to work rotating weekends and some holidays as required.

   

• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
