Assistant Residential Director

Summary This position reports directly to the Residential Director and will be responsible for monitoring all aspects of Arc Human Services’ residential facilities and ensuring the physical, emotional and programmatic needs of the clients are met. The role includes providing ongoing supervision and support to Program Specialists and Residential Site Managers, delegating or performing their duties as necessary. The employee must carry an emergency cell phone 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Responsibilities Review and approve facility schedules in advance to assure adequate staffing patterns at all times. Provide direction to Program Specialists and Residential Program Managers on staff disciplinary matters as needed. Provide guidelines to Program Specialists in preparing performance evaluations and review disputed evaluation items when requested. Assure compliance with all applicable County and State regulations regarding physical plant issues. Assist in preparation of the agency’s operating program budget in coordination with other management staff, ensuring accurate and efficient planning for adequate staffing patterns and facility resources. Participate, when appropriate, in investigations of allegations of abuse, staff misconduct, or unusual incidents following program procedures and regulatory requirements. Directly supervise all Residential Program Specialists and Residential Site Managers. Orient and train immediate subordinates in departmental procedures and provide ongoing supervision and evaluation during the orientation period and on a continuing basis. Conduct routine assessments of training needs of subordinate staff. Approve overtime requests for direct care staff. Investigate and document staff grievances or alleged misconduct. Effectively communicate and coordinate all relevant information to appropriate staff. Run monthly meetings with Residential Site Managers and Program Specialists. Attend house meetings as necessary to provide support and clarification. Meet with the Residential Program Director as needed to review job responsibilities and current tasks. Through regular contact with clients, families, and staff, assess the agency’s ongoing ability to provide a therapeutic environment including day/vocational services, physical and emotional health care needs, recreational and leisure pursuits, etc., designed to promote independence and dignity. Provide assistance to Program Specialists in addressing more complex short-term or long-term client needs and in accessing specialized treatment modalities. Monitor physical aspects of residential sites for safety and cleanliness in compliance with agency program standards. Coordinate residential site preparations for monitoring and licensing inspections, ensuring compliance with all applicable state and local regulations. Review incident reports, unusual incident reports, medication errors, and ensure appropriate follow-up action is completed. Ensure reports in HCSIS are completed and finalized. Participate in Clinical Meetings in homes as assigned. Apply modifications to duties as needed to reflect changes in requirements or functions of the position. The position is also responsible for all other applicable duties as assigned by the Residential Program Director. Promote and adhere to the relevant elements of the compliance program and exercise objective judgment and decisive thinking in complying with all organization and program policies, practices, and procedures, including ethics, business practices, and compliance elements. Comply with all applicable federal, state, local laws and regulations, policies and procedures, and report any concerns. Qualifications Valid driver’s license with at least a three‑year clean driving record. Act 33 and 34 clearances. Education and Experience A Bachelor’s Degree in human services or a related field and five (5) years of managerial experience for people with intellectual disability, autism, or serious mental illness. #J-18808-Ljbffr
