About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to play a pivotal role in the organization's mission to combat climate change. The CAO will be responsible for building and leading a fundraising organization, setting strategic direction for fundraising, and executing a comprehensive development strategy. This includes creating and implementing innovative fundraising plans, maintaining relationships with core and affiliate partners, and personally managing a portfolio of high-capacity prospects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in development leadership, a proven track record in frontline fundraising, and a strong network within the climate funding community. They should be adept at working with diverse stakeholders, including senior leaders, and be committed to the values of diversity and inclusion. Applicants for the CAO position at the company should be seasoned, entrepreneurial development professionals with a passion for the mission. The role requires a leader who is comfortable with ambiguity, skilled at problem-solving, and experienced in leading through influence. The CAO will also be involved in management and oversight, including setting and revising fundraising goals, recruiting and training a diverse team, and ensuring efficient processes. Personal characteristics such as superior presentation and communication skills, a diplomatic and collaborative approach, and a strong commitment to the organization's values are essential.
