Facilities Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintenance responsibilities include the building heating, air conditioning and the maintenance and repair of the building and any equipment. Jointly responsible for HVAC maintenance and preventive maintenance (PM) with the Facilities Manager. Work with the Operations Manager to oversee and schedule PM with service providers on various test equipment. Provide support with material handling activities: tow motor, lifts, pallet jacks. Coordinate with purchasing team to order supplies from various suppliers or pick up locally. Work with managers and be mentored on building control systems – temperature controls, adjustments, computer systems, test equipment, lighting – and be responsible for those controls; work with facility and test supervisor to support maintenance. Oversee landscaping service and snow plowing service with the provider; on occasion shovel snow on walkways and salt areas. Operate forklift and manlift trucks with certification. Support and possibly perform TPM on the facility and test equipment per established schedules. Participate in the site's Continuous Improvement efforts. Must be available to work odd hours when needed. Act as liaison with outside contractors on site. From time to time, clean common areas such as restrooms and lunchroom. Install, repair and maintain motors, generators, transformers, electrical fixtures, controls, power supply units, and other electrical equipment (AC/DC, high voltage). May be required to perform rough carpentry, finish carpentry, drywall finishing, flooring, concrete and masonry work, welding and fabrication. Maintain all systems and equipment in compliance with guidelines, specifications, codes and regulations. Work with others in their duties as needed. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with various types of equipment, or 2 years of vocational education and/or certificate. Knowledgeable in shipping/receiving areas. Valid Ohio driver's license with no restrictions. ITAR Compliance This position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Knowledge and Skills Diagnose defective systems and determine whether to call paid maintenance service contractors. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and competency in SAP. Knowledge of third‑party shipping systems. Good understanding of electricity up to 480V, AC/DC transformers and circuitry.
