Description Litigation Paralegal Join Our Team Barnwell Whaley is seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our growing transportation team. From initial client intake through trial or settlement, you will be a valued member of our litigation team, helping manage cases, support attorneys, and provide exceptional service to our clients. What You’ll Do As a Litigation Paralegal at Barnwell Whaley, you will play an integral role in managing cases from inception through trial, working closely with attorneys and clients to deliver exceptional legal service and achieve successful outcomes: Conduct client intake and gather detailed information regarding potential matters. Organize and maintain case files, pleadings, discovery indexes, exhibits, and other case-related documents using legal technology and document management systems. Draft legal documents, including subpoenas, summonses, affidavits, initial disclosures, expert disclosures, discovery requests and responses, and court orders. Manage all phases of discovery, including document collection, production, and review. Review, analyze, and summarize medical, financial, tax, employment, and other case-related records. Review and summarize deposition transcripts and other evidentiary materials. Perform legal and factual research using online research platforms and databases. Prepare attorneys and witnesses for depositions, hearings, mediations, and court appearances by organizing case materials, exhibits, and supporting evidence. Assist with trial preparation and support in state and federal courts, including exhibit management, trial notebooks, witness coordination, courtroom support, and travel as needed. Track and manage deadlines across multiple cases to ensure all filings, discovery obligations, and litigation milestones are met. Maintain accurate time entries, billing records, and case documentation. Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, experts, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other stakeholders. Provide exceptional client service through responsive communication and attention to client needs. Maintain strict confidentiality of client and firm information. Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the litigation team. Requirements Your Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate is a proactive professional who combines strong legal knowledge with outstanding organizational and communication skills. Qualifications include: 3+ years of experience. Certificate or degree in paralegal studies preferred. Experience supporting litigation matters from inception through trial or settlement. Knowledge of legal terminology and federal and state rules of procedure. Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage large volumes of documents, records, and exhibits. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Experience with NetDocuments or similar document management systems; familiarity with PracticeMaster and Tabs3 is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related legal technology.
