Clinical Supervisor

Overview The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the overall direction of hospice clinical services. The Clinical Supervisor establishes, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for hospice services that meet and promote standards of quality and contribute to the overall organization and philosophy. Job Functions / Responsibilities Assist and coordinate all direct and indirect patient services provided by clinical organization personnel. Provide guidance and counseling to the clinical team to assist them in continually improving all aspects of hospice care services. Plan, coordinate, and effectively communicate clinical team staffing and schedules. Interpret operational indicators to detect census changes and volume fluctuations that could impact staffing levels, revenues, or expenses. Manage conflict and complaints with patients and families, resolving issues promptly. Lead staff development, including orientation, in-service, continuing education, competency testing, and quality assessment for performance improvement; stay current with clinical information and practices. Direct staff in performing their duties including admissions, discharges, transfers, revocations, re-certifications, and provision of services to patients. Collect appropriate data, conduct chart audits, and report to governing bodies. Maintain adequate inventory supplies and equipment for patient services. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of organization personnel and maintain compliance with CHAP Home Care standards. Promote hospice referrals within the healthcare community. Position Qualifications Registered nurse in the State with a current license to practice professional nursing. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Three years of management experience in a hospice or related healthcare organization preferred. Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel. Ability to market and deal tactfully with customers and the community. Must be a licensed driver with an insured automobile that is in good working condition, per state and/or organization requirements. Excellent observation, verbal, and written communication skills. Knowledge of business management, governmental regulations, and CHAP standards.
