About the Position

We are seeking a Locum Orthopedic Surgeon in Mason City, IA to provide comprehensive care across inpatient, OR, and trauma settings . The role involves clinical management, surgical procedures including joint replacements, trauma care, and fracture management , as well as supervising advanced practice providers. Providers will work within a collaborative, high-volume orthopedic service with full EMR support and opportunities to engage with residents and PA students.

Shift Timings:

• Clinic: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 24-hour call coverage including inpatient rounding and follow-ups

Requirements

• Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
• Active Iowa medical license or IMLC eligibility
• Clean malpractice and background history
• NPDB self-query report (within last 30 days)
• Ability to cover specific date blocks as required
• Proficient in hip, knee, shoulder replacements, upper/lower extremity surgeries, trauma, fracture care, and sports medicine
