Locum Tenens Physician Assistant (Critical Care) opportunity in Peoria, IL (61637) - join a high-acuity ICU team caring for neuro, cardiac, and medical critical patients in a collaborative academic environment.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $4,090 - $4,380
• Location: Peoria, Illinois (61637) - Peoria, IL critical care jobs
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (July 29, 2024 - October 28, 2024)
• Employment Type: Locum tenens Physician Assistant / Locum Tenens PA
• Shifts: Full Time and Part Time options available

• Active Illinois state PA license required at time of application (IMLC not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of prior Critical Care APP or ICU Physician Assistant experience
• Comfortable managing high-acuity ICU patients and performing bedside procedures
• Experience with neurocritical care, cardiovascular critical care, VADs, ECMO, and transplant patients preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently and collaboratively with physicians, fellows, residents, and APP colleagues

• Provide daily critical care as a Physician Assistant/APP across Neuro, Cardiac, and Medical ICU step-down units
• Manage approximately 10-15 patients per day in ICU/step-down settings
• Develop and implement treatment plans for critically ill patients, including post-operative cardiovascular surgery care
• Perform bedside procedures such as central and arterial line placements and other critical care procedures
• Care for neurocritical patients with conditions like subdural hemorrhages and EVDs
• Participate in management of patients requiring ventricular assist devices (VADs), VA ECMO, and heart transplant support
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (attendings, fellows, residents, nursing) to coordinate patient care

• Work in a high-acuity academic environment with strong physician and APP support
• Broad critical care exposure - excellent for experienced ICU PAs and Critical Care APPs
