Budget Rent a Car is seeking a Collections Agent to manage the recovery of damages related to our fleet vehicles. This role is a strong fit for someone with experience in collections, automotive claims, insurance claims, vehicle damage recovery, or other account resolution work .

The Collections Specialist is responsible for reviewing files, identifying potential coverage, developing effective collection strategies, and working toward recovery within 90 days. This position involves frequent communication with customers, other parties, attorneys, and outside collection resources.

Responsibilities

• Review files to determine potential coverage and develop collection strategies for recovery within 90 days
• Communicate with customers, other parties, attorneys, and others involved in the collection process
• Maintain accurate records of collection activity and incoming payments
• Evaluate files for outside collection or attorney referral
• Complete a monthly reconciliation report using Excel
• Make suggestions for alternative dispute resolution
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications

• Collection handling experience preferred
• Claims handling experience preferred
• Rental car company experience preferred

Requirements

• Collections experience
• PC literate in Windows and MS Office software
• Excel proficient
• Strong organizational skills with a focus on detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Heavy phone experience

Compensation

• $44,000 annual salary
• Significant bonus potential
