Business Analyst

Job Summary: The NC FAST Business Analyst will play a key role throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by leading requirements gathering, conducting detailed analyses, and supporting implementation and testing activities. This role focuses on bridging business needs with technical solutions to ensure effective system enhancements and operational improvements. Responsibilities: Lead Fit/Gap and JAD sessions to map requirements to standard features and functions. Conduct business, operational, financial, and comparative analyses to recommend effective implementation approaches. Execute data queries to support reporting, analysis, data validation, troubleshooting, and testing. Identify and document business processes, issues, value levers, metrics, and capabilities. Develop functional and technical design specifications, process flows, and system documentation. Refine User Stories and establish acceptance criteria for features. Support system testing activities including developing test scenarios, participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and defect tracking. Collaborate with business and technical teams to identify training needs and support user readiness. Participate in implementation activities to ensure successful delivery of system enhancements and operational improvements. Provide end-user support by assisting with production support activities and resolving system-related issues. Required Skills & Certifications: Experience participating in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Strong analytical skills including business, operational, and financial analysis. Proficiency in executing data queries for reporting and validation. Ability to develop functional and technical documentation and process flows. Experience supporting system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with business and technical teams. Preferred Skills & Certifications: Experience designing intuitive, user-centric UI/UX solutions. Proficiency with SQL for querying and validating data. Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), including generative AI use cases. Special Considerations: Work is based in Raleigh, NC with regular business hours from 8am to 5pm EST. May require active participation in implementation and production support activities.
