MS&T Senior Scientist - Small Molecule Drug Substance

Senior Scientist position focused on small molecule drug substance development at a pharmaceutical company. Responsibilities include managing technical transfers with contract manufacturers, conducting synthetic organic chemistry experiments across development stages, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on process optimization and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical transfer and manufacturing collaborations with external CDMOs including documentation and change control
• Conduct synthetic organic experiments independently across clinical, validation, and commercial development stages
• Monitor reaction processes using analytical methods and develop sufficient analytical procedures
• Generate hypotheses and direct synthesis or manufacturing experiments toward project goals
• Provide technical recommendations and on-the-job training to other chemists on experiments and regulatory compliance

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry with 8+ years experience, or Master's with 5+ years, or PhD with 2-5 years
• Current laboratory experience in pharmaceutical development, chemical manufacturing, or related R&D
• Strong synthetic organic chemistry laboratory skills and practical knowledge
• Experience writing and transferring technology to contract manufacturers and managing suppliers
• Deep understanding of SOPs, GMPs, and regulatory compliance requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and cross-functional audiences
• Demonstrated track record working effectively in cross-functional team environments

Compensation: $120,000 - $180,000 base
