Major product lines include a complete line of thermoplastic and metal fabricated enclosures, fiber optic cable connection and management systems, and high-performance below-grade vaults.DescriptionThe Press Brake Operator is responsible for the setup, maintenance, and operation of the machines assigned to them in the Brake Press Cell. Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and the Manufacturing and Operations Manager, they will complete all work orders according to the specific work order instructions. The Press Brake Operator is responsible for following production schedules by work order specification requirements and blueprints. Maintains quality through visual inspection of equipment, dies, materials and processes. Maintains good housekeeping practice and ensures that company policies and safety rules are followed by any task assigned. Responsibilities also include any other assignments provided by the immediate Supervisor.Essential FunctionsOperates Press Brake machineRun bend and forming operations using standard and custom punchesUse a CNC controller to input information into the machineAdjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprintsPerform complex programming using all features of the press brakeWork with tight tolerancePerform spot inspections of partsComplete and maintain paperworkSet up light gauge metalConfigure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminum, and regular steel)Read drawings and blueprintsKnowledge OfGood mechanical skills, use of hand/power toolsGood understanding of quality and safety practicesAbility To/Training RequirementsEquipment emergency stopsMust understand and follow all departmental safety rulesProper use of all safety equipment: safety glasses, safety shoes, reflective vest/uniformUnderstand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)ISO sections about the positionQualificationsKnowledge of using the proper punch and die clearances according to material type and thicknessRequires a high school diploma or equivalentExperience using Wintriss and Aida controls is a plusCapacity to work overtime as neededPhysical Demands And Working ConditionsThe physical demands and working conditions requirements indicated below are examples of the demands that must be performed in carrying out the essential job functions.Physical Demands : Standing, sitting, walking (up to continuously); speaking/verbal communication, bend/stoop, twist neck and torso (frequently); reach, hold, grasp, push, pull, lift/carry raw material, finished product, tools and machinery up to 50 pounds (frequently).Working Conditions: Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
