Job Details Location: Athens-Clarke - Pavilion, Athens, GA 30606 Position Type: Full Time Salary: $55,000.00 per year Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend events and after-hours work may be required based on program needs. Program Summary The Opioid Use Disorder Program supports clients battling opioid addiction in a 10‑county area in Northeast Georgia. Services include crisis support/detox/medication‑assisted treatment (MAT), intensive residential and outpatient treatment, peer‑led recovery support services, and community outreach and education. Position Summary As the PROUD Team Lead, a certified CARES Recovery Coach, you will provide case management and paraprofessional social services to clients and their families. Responsibilities include conducting client intakes, coordinating medication services with the MAT Coordinator, participating in treatment team planning, guiding junior case managers, addressing personal and social problems, and acting as liaison with social services and legal entities. You will oversee community‑based treatment operations, in‑house clinical services, and agency partner services, coordinate staff training, and supervise paraprofessionals or other recovery coaches. Key Duties and Responsibilities Act as a Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES). Create and maintain a high‑performance environment with positive leadership and strong teamwork. Interview, orient, train, assign, schedule, coach, and counsel employees; communicate job expectations; adhere to policies and procedures. Partner with the Program Manager to motivate staff and improve work quantity and quality, providing training and development opportunities as needed. Coordinate client intakes with the MAT Coordinator and Recovery Coaches, develop individual service plans from intake/assessment data, and contribute to treatment team meetings. Obtain consumer background information from other health care professionals and maintain compliance with established guidelines. Maintain client databases and spreadsheets in accordance with federal, state, and agency authorities. Assist clients in accessing community resources—legal, medical, financial, recovery, and referral services—and develop a network of appropriate community contacts. Arrange or provide transportation for clients to appointments and schedule follow‑up appointments promptly. Facilitate or lead relapse‑prevention groups using motivational interviewing and other recovery models. Contribute to strategy sessions, committees, and task forces to enhance case‑management collaboration and communication. Advocate and conduct individual sessions to guide personal and social development per established standards. Recognize and respond to client crisis situations, notifying staff on call or the immediate supervisor of any crises or unusual incidents. Create, complete, and sign progress notes/documentation after each session/interactions per Agency standards. Attend all required training, supervision, and staff meetings within the Agency. Allow peers to shadow as needed and perform other departmental duties to maintain service continuity. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and three years’ experience in a social services related position, or a Bachelor’s degree in a social services related field and one year of experience, or one year in a lower position or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field plus one year of related work experience, exposure to persons with addiction histories and/or co‑occurring disorders such as Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI). Solid case‑management experience. Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist through the Georgia Council for Recovery. Strong communication skills, recovery language, motivational interviewing training, WRAP training. Experience in residential settings for substance abuse treatment. Experience with court and legal systems. Experience building community groups for diverse populations. Ability to calm, de‑escalate, and provide consistent support for unstable clients. Ability to coordinate and organize delivery of services. Ability to interview clients and families using established techniques. Ability to collaborate with other treatment providers to develop client treatment plans, including recovery goals and basic needs (housing, social, education, vocational, family). Intermediate knowledge of bio‑psychosocial aspects of behavioral health to fully participate in treatment team meetings and delivery. Intermediate knowledge of substance abuse treatment models to educate and clarify information when needed. Ability to develop, implement, and facilitate agency and community workshops on addiction, treatment, and recovery. Ability to assess training needs. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license.
