We invite you to become part of our family and contribute to our ongoing success.Summary of Essential DutiesThe AOG Buyer is responsible for the urgent procurement of aircraft materials, components, tooling, equipment, and services required to support Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events and other critical maintenance requirements. This role ensures rapid sourcing and delivery of parts to minimize aircraft downtime while maintaining compliance with company procurement policies and aviation regulatory requirements. The AOG Buyer works closely with Maintenance Control, Engineering, Material Planning, and external suppliers to resolve operational disruptions quickly and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesProcure aircraft parts, components, tooling, equipment, and services to support AOG and urgent maintenance events.Process and manage purchase orders for aircraft and engine components required for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.Analyze purchase requisitions for completeness, urgency, and accuracy prior to issuing procurement actions.Issue Requests for Quotes (RFQs) to approved suppliers and evaluate vendor proposals based on price, availability, certification, and delivery time.Negotiate pricing and delivery terms to ensure cost-effective procurement while meeting operational timelines.Expedite open orders with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of critical parts required to resolve AOG events.Track and monitor open purchase orders and provide status updates to internal stakeholders.Collaborate with Maintenance Planning, Material Planning, and Engineering to ensure correct parts are ordered for maintenance events.Review technical documentation such as Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC), Service Bulletins (SB), Engineering Orders (EO), and Airworthiness Directives (AD).Resolve discrepancies related to orders, certifications, invoices, warranty claims, and vendor documentation.Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to support rapid sourcing during critical operational events.Ensure procurement activities comply with company purchasing policies and applicable regulatory requirements.Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.Must be at least 18 years of age.Strong organizational and troubleshooting skillsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the country without restrictions.Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently; proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not required.High school diploma or GED certification preferred.Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products, including Office 365, Excel, Outlook, and Word; familiarity with similar software applications is also required.Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive, customer-focused attitude.Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.Ability to effectively interact with a variety of personalities while maintaining a high level of professionalism.Skilled in coordinating multiple priorities, managing deadlines, and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Ability to handle interruptions and changing priorities with flexibility and a strong attention to detail.Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team-oriented environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, delivered with professionalism and tact.Ability to pass a 10-year work history background check, as well as criminal history and fingerprint checks, as required by the TSA.Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular shifts as operational needs dictate.Must adhere to all safety regulations and work in a professional manner, complying with OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulatory requirements.Preferred QualificationsAssociate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Aviation Management, or related field (or equivalent work experience).3–5 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.Aviation, MRO, or aircraft materials procurement experience preferred.Experience supporting AOG or urgent operational procurement strongly preferred.Working knowledge of aviation maintenance documentation including IPC, ADs, SBs, and Engineering Orders.Experience with aviation maintenance or procurement systems such as TRAX, Quantum, CAMP, FOS, or Coupa.Familiarity with inventory management systems and forecasting tools.Disclaimer: The above statements are intended only to describe the general nature and level of work required for the referenced position; they are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of individuals in the position.
