Job Details A Day in This Role You start the day reviewing a set of plans for an upcoming commercial installation, working through a material takeoff. Mid-morning, you're on a call with the sales rep to align on scope before a proposal goes out. After lunch, you finalize pricing on a bid due that afternoon, then review a site-visit report from a technician to refine an estimate on a more complex repair job. The Role ● Review blueprints, schematics, and site information to develop accurate project scopes. ● Prepare material takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial door, dock, and access-control projects. ● Collaborate with sales on proposal development and pricing strategy. ● Track bid outcomes and refine estimating accuracy over time. ● Coordinate with project management and field teams to ensure estimates translate into deliverable scopes. What You Bring — Must-Haves ● Prior estimating experience in construction, commercial doors, dock equipment, or a closely related trade. ● Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. ● Strong Excel skills and comfort with estimating or takeoff software. What You Bring — Nice-to-Haves ● Specific commercial door or dock equipment estimating experience. ● Familiarity with ERP/FSM systems (NetSuite, ServiceTitan, or similar).
