Communications and Marketing Manager
Job Post Summary
The Communications and Marketing Manager is responsible for leading organizational communications, brand awareness, digital marketing, community engagement, and storytelling initiatives. This role develops and executes communication strategies that strengthen visibility, support fundraising and outreach efforts, and enhance engagement with stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, creative thinker, and organized project manager who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining consistent messaging across all communication channels.
Job Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and execute annual communications and marketing strategies.
Create and manage content calendars for digital, social media, email, and print communications.
Write, edit, and distribute newsletters, donor communications, announcements, and marketing materials.
Gather stories and content from staff, programs, and community stakeholders.
Manage website content, ensuring accuracy, engagement, and brand consistency.
Oversee social media platforms, scheduling, and audience engagement.
Track and report communication performance metrics across digital channels.
Maintain brand standards and visual consistency across all communications.
Coordinate with designers, photographers, printers, and other creative vendors.
Develop templates and communication resources to support organizational initiatives.
Support marketing and promotion for fundraising events, community events, and organizational campaigns.
Coordinate media outreach and external visibility opportunities.
Manage communication requests across departments and establish project timelines.
Improve communication workflows and ensure timely delivery of projects.
Qualifications and Certifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit communications, digital marketing, or a related field.
5+ years of experience preferred.
Proven experience developing communications strategies that deliver measurable results.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Experience managing multiple projects and competing deadlines.
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
Strong visual and creative judgment.
Experience managing vendors and creative partners preferred.
Proficiency with website platforms, email marketing systems, social media management tools, and content management systems.
Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and related communications tools preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to pass background, reference, education, and professional credential verification checks.
